international de-lurking week

So, yeah, hmmm. I've tried really hard to avoid doing this type of stuff, but I've finally given in. Apparently, it's international de-lurking week.

I've been visited by many people but not that many have talked to me. So, please, say hi. You have no idea how curious I am who you are. Tell me your best squirrel-story. Or something.

P.S. For those of you who HAVE been commenting, think of this as Reader Appreciation Day as well. Words cannot describe how much I love hearing from you.

Why do Bulgarians hate old people?

----------------
Bulgarian police have arrested an elderly village priest on drug charges after he refused to stop growing marijuana, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.

The 63-year-old clergyman from Kladensti, a mountain village with 10 residents near Bulgaria's border with Macedonia, was arrested Tuesday after police found ten pounds of marijuana in his house and numerous plants in abandoned fields nearby.

Police had confiscated the drug at his house numerous times before and believed he was growing it for sale, said Valeri Georgiev, police spokesman of the southwest town of Blagoevgrad.

"The police knew for sure that if they went to the priest's home, they would find drugs. We've seized marijuana at his house five or six times over the past three years," she said.

"Apparently he refused to give it up."

@andrew: I beg my pardon, but an old fart redneck caught growing marijuana under his texan trailer wouldn't have the luxury of retrying it several times - he would go straight to jail at the first attempt. I am actually very disappointed the cops let this sucker slide (numerous times) for drug production :(

We used to have a small table and chair thing hanging on the side of a tree. There was a spike sticking up from the table on which an ear of dried corn could be placed. The squirrels would actually sit on the chair and eat. Fun to watch them. I have a few photos but nothing scanned, sorry.

Is that you, Scout? You remembers me...Boo Radley. My hobbies is whittlin, huntin, lurkin, and watchin for mysef on that Most Wanted show. I kin carve a fine squirrel likeness, but mostly I likes em cooked up with gravy and black-eye peas. One time I chomped down and chipped my only tooth on buck-shot, so that be my favright squirrel story at show-n-tell.
