Last night I decided to quit smoking. No particular reason. Just got sick of feeling like crap all the time. Always tired. Always sleepy. Not able to run a mile to save my life. Not that I would ever want to run a mile, but you get the idea. I've never wanted to quit before so I have no idea how successful I will be. But just thinking about the possibility of feeling better already makes me happy.
It's a little bit after 4 and I haven't had a single cigarette yet. I HAVE had more than 20 miniature chocolate eggs. Uh-oh!

Chocolate eggs are waaaay better than cigarettes, so says I. Isn't chocolate considered health food this week?
And if the chocolate puts some "junk in your trunk", you'll have the lungs to run it off -- if you don't want to keep it, that is.
Seriously though, all the best in quitting. I know how easy it is to quit, having done so a dozen or so times. The last time stuck.

I'm about four weeks into quitting. It gets MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better after the first couple of days. I'm crossing my fingers for you-- you can do it!
pete, any advice? chew gum? eat baby-carrots? anything?
Drink lots of really cold water, chew lots of gum, and don't be afraid to eat like crazy (I found chocolate really helps).
If you get a bad craving, take ten really deep breaths and hold the last one for a few seconds. That seems to work really well for me.
Just remember, you can do just about anything you want (except smoke).
