Best Princess In the City
Driver: Bummer!
Me: Excuse me?
Driver: Sorry, I was hoping to go for a sandwich, just when you got in.
Me: Oh! No worries. I could have a sandwich myself.
We pull over, he stops the meter and we go into this little hole in the wall place on Dondukov and Veslets (I think) where they make the best sandwiches (принцеси, to be precise) in the entire city. Don't go looking for them, I mean, it's cheap sandwiches I'm talking about. BUT definitely check them out if you're in the vicinity and need a quick-fix.
On a different note, I KNOW it was a little reckless to go get a bite with my taxi driver. He could have raped and chopped me up into pieces. For all I know, however, finding that sandwich place, made it all worthwhile.

Ha ha! :) Love you, princess!
True that was risky behavior on your part, but when you think about it, taxi drivers themselves are pretty vulnerable all day long, never really knowing who is sitting behind them or what harm could be inflicted on them. Every city must have at least one of those run-down places where you'd never guess the food is really good. In the town where my parents live, there's a little trailer type of building on the side of a road, and anyone passing through could view it as an eyesore dump. However, it's somewhat legendary to the locals, mainly due to a couple of tasty items they've served for decades. I could list several others I've frequented in out-of-the-way and undesirable locations, that had the best ever of some particular style of food. So, it can pay to get around a little and be adventurous. (The establishment I described in an earlier post about the weird customers probably sounded like a dive, yet that was actually a fairly nice restaurant with only so-so food.)
In fairness, he could have raped and chopped you up in to little pieces even if you hadn't agreed to a sandwich.
hi y'all-
i was just telling the professor that i am incredibly proud of bulgarians for calling a simple ground-beef sandwich 'the princess'. we are so cute!!! :D
I imagine I'm not the only non-Bulgarian developing a ridiculous mental image of ground beef wearing a tiara and a ruffly pink dress. Who knew ground beef could be cute?
nooooo! we call it 'princess' because you feel like one after eating it! :D
