The reminder: For those of you living in Sofia, Joy Ito's talk is today at 17.30 at Hall 65 at Sofia University.
The request: Could someone please put a sock on your head and come kidnap me from the office so that I can attend as well. My desk is next to Var's and looks NOTHING like his:
I will not write a dedicated entry about this as I missed both the beginning and the Q&A session. Whatever I will say is based on the 50 minutes I heard, which although does not give me the right to speak authoritatively on the subject, does allow me to share my IMPRESSIONS. So this is nothing but that:
I did not disagree with a single thing he said. I simply think he tried to cover way too much in a very limited time frame. That's why, to me, it seemed that he barely scratched the surface on most of the issues he talked about. It could be that he didn't get enough direction from the organizers or perhaps, the talk was intended for a more general audience...I don't know. But I left thinking, well...yeah...so?!
Leo, what were your impressions? Do share! I could be totally off.
I agree - the guys who organized it hadn't given him much direction if any whatsoever... I actually think VMarkovski asked Joi to talk about blogs, but fortunately Joi didn't obey =] And I agree on the 'barely scratched the surface' part... but it couldn't be otherwise due to quite many reasons in that were present in this case...
My name is Petya and this place has been my true love since January of 2002 when I thought that I wanted to illustrate children's books for a living. I used to draw little girls with BIG heads. Hence the name of the site.
Since its very inception, the website has been hosted by, Dan of waferbaby.com. Dan is single-handedly responsible for my addiction to all things blog. It all started when he made the seemingly innocent suggestion that if I want to have a website, I might want to learn a little bit of html. And for that, I will love him forever.
After a seven-year whirlwind of adventures in the United States, I moved back to Bulgaria where I now live with my wonderful husband. If you ever see a spastic Bulgarian girl and a skinny American boy taking jumping pictures of each other you should know it's probably the two of us and should definitely come by and say hi.
Thank you for taking interest in my life. And please say hi when you get a chance! That would totally make my day!
