I am SO HAPPY!! This is the first election since we re-elected Bill that hasn't made me want to vomit. Yay - finally, the masses are showing some sense!! :-)

i'd say, don't be too proud too soon :) then again, i am always cautious that way... but you are right in one thing - that's a good start.

Your joy is premature, alien: Most of the so-called "Democrats," especially the ones elected in the South are actually pro-life, anti-gay and anti-immigration. Much like Arnie Schwarzenegger is Republican in name only, most of the Democrats in the new Congress are closer to John McCain than that crazed Marxist, Nancy Pelosi. Sure, the Dems won the election, now they have to win their own party... Mwahahaha....
Also, it's great news for us Libertarians. Traditionally, deadlocked configurations between Congress and the White House have been associated with rock bottom amounts of federal spending (I call it all "waste") on bloated bureaucracy, welfare for the slum queens and phramaceuticals for the brothers...
I know what you mean, Petya. I was just telling everyone in my office that my country has given me shamefully little to be proud of up over the last few years. Ever since that stomach-sinking feeling washed over me in a parking lot full of American flag stickers after my return from being abroad in December 2001, I knew the US had changed, and I didn't like the direction that change indicated. Maybe now we'll be able to move on and actually make some decent decisions about who we really want to be in this world.

:) yeah, well, until I came back to Bulgaria, I really didn't keep it updated, so kept it under wraps, so to speak... but now since everyone (who is not in Bulgaria) wants to know what Bulgaria is like, etc. I thought what better and more convenient way to share impressions, stories, etc. than a blog. anyhow, hope you amused yourself reading it :)
