Happy birthday, Professor!
Kyle turns 33 today. Please join me in wishing him the happiest of birthdays! Also, if you have ideas for cool "birthday" things to do here in Sofia, do let me know! We've got the evening planned out and he already got the Bulgarian Scrabble so those two are out of the way. BUT our family believes in week-long birthday celebrations so if you've got a bar recommendation or know of particularly good vegetarian restaurants, we are all ears!

Искам да попитам нещо като преди това се извинявам - ако е неуместно и нахално, не ми отговаряй. Наистина ми е интересно какво се случва при теб, Петя, затова се връщам към блога ти и се зарадвах за вас двамата искрено. Но какво работи един американец тук в България? Как въобще може да свикне тук? Може би задавам прекалено директни въпроси и наистина, ако искаш не ми отговаряй, макар че ми е ужасно любопитно.

Не, не е нахално. На много хора им е интересно и често задават подобни въпроси.
Кайл пише дисертация/приключва докторантура си по философия и по тази причина има възможност да работи съвсем нормално от България (домът ни в момента е една мини-библиотека от книги за Кант и немски идеализъм от XIX в.). Налага се да пътува от време навреме до Щатите, за да се среща с преподавателите от неговата dissertation-комисия, но няма нужда да е там през цялото време. Ситуацията е доста приятна, защото ни дава възможност да живеем заедно, а от друга страна поне за момента няма нужда да се притесняваме за това какво да работи той в България.
Що се отнася до въпроса "Как въобще може да свикне тук?", честно казано не знам как да отговоря. Може би с въпрос: А защо да не може да свикне?! Кайл не е нито първия, нито ще бъде последния човек, който по една или друга причина е избрал да живее извън държавата, в която се е родил. Мисля, че няма нужда да се притесняваш за него. Доколкото забелязвам, до момента се справя доста добре и си живеем повече от чудесно!
А аз самата се опитвам да се уча от него: на отворено съзнание, на позитивност и на вяра, че всичко е постижимо, стига само да го желаеш наистина ама НАИСТИНА силно. :))))
Кайл, честито! Пожелавам ти и след 50 години с Петя да хрупате сандвичи на обяд и да се целувате все едно сте на 33.:)

Petya, as to the vegetarian restaurant I know one near MCDonalds on Alabin Str.... I am not sure how good it is, been there just once and nothing else to compare with.

Btw, the only vegetarian restaurant I know of in Sofia is The Veggie Home :10 Patriarch Evtimii St.
Food is quite good, at least as much as I can tell (being a carnivore)
Let me tell you, when I am rich and famous, I am totally opening a vegetarian restaurant in Sofia. The lack of vegetarian options in this city is really just pathetic.
