URL blocked
I think I've written before about the "Great Firewall of China". Well, I KNOW I have...it's called a Master's Thesis.
Now, this website allows to test any website and see if it's been blocked by the Chinese government agency in charge of internet cleanup.
I tested mine and it turns out that...IT IS!
I wonder if it's my little exchage with the Dormitory Boys or the fact that I propagated Altoid-inspired sex that got me on their No-No list.

How fascinating! Neither janekeeler.com nor jane's daily blah are blocked. Yet.
The secret unbloggable story is blocked! I wonder if it's all my talk of vibrators and sex, or if it's my reference to the Three Gorges?
I just talked about this with a friend here at the office. It's blogger that is blocked. But still, it's fun to think that it's more personal than that ;)
Well, jane's daily blah is a blogger site, and it's available. I had always heard that you couldn't log in to blogger sites (as in, you can't post/comment) but as the daily blah and blog supergroup (another blogger site) are viewable, it seems that not all blogspot sites are blocked.
yeah, i'm on blogger too and totally legit. man, my blog is way too wholesome. if the chinese won't ban you, who will? they probably read my blog in mormon kindergarten.

they do admit that it could be a technical glitch...
i just have a very hard time imagining some government bureaucrat in china coming across my blog and thinking "now, this one, it's VERY DANGEROUS!"

Well, mine is blocked. Probably isn't because of my pro-choice views... Maybe because I work to emancipate people with disabilities?! ;]

I can guarantee you that they can not guarantee you that your website is blocked in whole China :)
I remember a news article about this. It turns out that every Chinese district enforces its own regulations on which sites to ban and which not. Well there are these popular sites that are banned almost in the whole country, but they are exceptions that contribute to the rule. Some Chinese blogger wrote that while traveling around the country he found that some sites were not visible in other parts of China, while visible in his home district...and etc.
I guess the party is not really communicating with the local commissariats :)
