In recovery

Sofia taxi drivers are a breed of their own. They are usually grumpy, rude and/or inappropriate, and…well, strange.

I took a cab this morning as I was running late for work (which, unfortunately, happens pretty much every day). The driver said hello what's up and started driving in the general direction of my office. I was spacing out, mostly enjoying the beautiful sunny weather that we've come to miss in the last couple of weeks.

Stevie Wonder's I Just Call to Say I Love You came on the radio. I smiled, I love the song.
My driver: he sang along the entire song, including VERY impressive back vocals and Stevie-Wonder-esque back-and-forth air-piano type action. Through the entire trip he did not acknowledge my presence. At some point I seriously wondered if he’d spaced out during my getting in his car and failed to notice there was actually a customer in with him.
We got to my office just as the song was finishing up. He took my money and wished me a happy (?!!) day and loads of luck.
I wished him: hmhhmhhmuuh.

I am still trying to recover from the trip. In a good way.
